Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Surge Support
SUMMARY: Surge support is available for Service members and families using flexible, timely, and tailored service delivery.
On Demand Requests
On Demand “Type of Event” (allow user to hover over selection and these definition show)
Annual Training: A period of training duty for units required to be performed each fiscal year by members of the National Guard and Reserves and may be conducted at any period during the fiscal year as authorized.
Caregiver: Specific in person forum for military caregivers that is facilitated by a Military and Family Life Counselor in support of the DoD, Office of Warrior Care Policy lead initiative for caregivers.
Casualty Assistance: When a unit or installation has experienced loss of a Service or family member, whether it be through injury on the job or otherwise.
Command Readiness Event: Any event that includes but is not limited to: homecoming, FRG, job/career fairs, SRP, staff and professional development, wellness fair and any other event that is intended to provide readiness to a command or unit.
Crisis Situation: An event that provides emergency, quick turnaround support based on the unexpected death of a Military Member or Family Member. Manner of death could be KIA, suicide, accidental or a natural disaster.
Deployment: Any deployment related event that supports units, military members and families before, during and after a deployment.
Drill Weekend: Any event that takes place during the regularly scheduled monthly drill weekend for a unit(s).
Family Event: Any event that is scheduled to provide information to all family members. These events may be formal in nature as a training event or briefing. They may also be social in nature as in a holiday party or picnic.
Marriage/Relationship Enrichment Retreat: Unit based and chaplain led retreats for couples, singles, and families designed to increase individual soldier and family member readiness through relationship education and skills training.
Natural Disaster: An event to provide services to those affected by natural circumstances (e.g., hurricane, earthquake, etc.).
Wounded Warrior: The military's wounded warrior program provides assistance and advocacy for severely wounded, ill and injured service members and their families. This event is to provide them with families with non-medical and personal financial counseling support.
